About the Bees & Honey
Why is Sweet Endeavors Honey Higher Quality?
Our locally produced honey is raw honey; which means it is not pasteurized, and because of this our honey has wonderful flavors and aromatics that you just don't get in store bought honey. We also never add anything to our honey like high fructose corn syrup or other sweeteners; our honey is always 100% pure so you can always count on a high quality food product for you and for family.

How are the bees cared for?
Beehive care requires proper maintenance to keep a healthy and happy hive. We strive to create favorable conditions for the honey bees which harvests stronger bees and helps prevent insects.
This maintenance includes regular repair to damaged parts, winter sugar stores, replacement of lost beeswax, rain covers, shade structures, ventilation, windbreak, and protection from predators.

What is an apiary?
An apiary is a bee farm where bees are kept for producing honey.

Processing
What is raw honey?
Raw honey is in it's natural and purest form is often referred to as liquid gold. When honey is pasteurized or filtered, as it often is in commercial varieties sold in many grocery stores, honey is filtered, strained, and then heated to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. This method of over-processing kills almost all of the beneficial enzymes, nutrients and antioxidants that make honey the perfect alternative to other sweeteners.

How often is honey processed?
We are processing once a year.
If you would like to be placed on our reservation list for any out of stock items please email us at hello@sweetendeavorshoney.com. You will be placed on a first come first served list. Prices are subject to change.

How are honey flavors different?
Our honey is produced local and raw & unfiltered, but no two honeys taste the same. Each has a different, distinct flavor depending on the floral sources.

How long will honey last?
If stored properly, it can essentially stay good for decades, sometimes even longer. Primarily made up of sugars, it's known as one of the most natural stable foods out there. According to the National Honey Board, most honey products have an expiration date or “best by” date of around two years.
